Kepl, who founded the orchestra in 1965-1966 and helped re-launch the orchestra in 1974, with a concert featuring then ten year-old violinist Nina Bodnar, who later became concertmaster of the Saint Louis Symphony. Daniel Kepl interviews Santa Barbara-based colorist painter Kathleen Elsey about her solo show at the Thomas Moser Showroom in San Francisco through December 2012. Creating websites, logos and branding for fortune 500 companies as Kathleen Elsey Design, in 1998 she decided to follow her heart and become a full-time painter. Within one year, Kathleen had her first open studio, then was juried into one of the most acclaimed art festivals in the country, the Sausalito Art Festival. She hasn’t looked back since.
