Daniel Kepl catches up with pianist/conductor Michael Chertock in Cincinnati for a talk about Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, which he will play with the Santa Barbara Symphony on their New Year’s Eve concert conducted by Pops conductor Bob Bernhardt. The telephone conversation is between engagements as conductor of The Nutcracker where he subs for Cincinnati Ballet when he’s not serving on the piano faculty at Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.
