A stunning professional triumph: Santa Barbara’s Ensemble Theatre Company has mounted a magnificent production of Stephen Sondheim’s musical theatre masterpiece (really an opera), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street — through October 25 at the New Vic

Ensemble Theatre Company Executive Artistic Director Jonathan Fox and Music Director Matthew R. Meckes have crafted a stunning professional production of Stephen Sondheim’s musical theater masterpiece, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I saw Sweeney recently and was blown away by the extraordinary level of the cast’s singing alone, nevermind their bravura theatrical prowess. Watch photographer David Bazemore’s slideshow of ETC’s Sweeney Todd below. This show really is a must see!
