Daniel Kepl interviews Lilit Hogtanian (Snow White – in red), Kate Kadow (The Evil Queen), and Ryan Camou (Prince) during a frenetic few minutes after rehearsal recently on the eve of opening night for State Street Ballet‘s production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on Saturday, February 22nd (7:30pm) and Sunday, February 23rd (2:00pm) in Santa Barbara’s historic and newly renovated Lobero Theatre. The interruptions are several during the interview, the video and audio quality is occasionally problematic, but the energy is high, and the Snow White story is wonderfully re-told by the dancers, who also discuss Marina Fliagina‘s descriptive choreography, and A. Christina Giannini‘s accommodating costumes. Life as artists in a professional regional dance company, and what sparked the idea of chasing such an esoteric career, are also subjects touched on during the interview. Tickets are still available at the Lobero Theatre Box office: (805) 963-0761. Group sales: firstname.lastname@example.org.
