An interview with USC School of Cinematic Arts animation directors Michael Patterson and Candace Reckinger about their students’ animations for Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition to be performed by the USC Thornton Symphony at the Granada Theatre in Santa Barbara on Saturday and Sunday, September 12 & 13

Daniel Kepl interviews Michael Patterson and Candace Reckinger for Santa Barbara’s CASA Magazine about the intense process they and their animation students enjoyed with conductor Michael Tilson Thomas in 2010-11 creating fresh animations for each of the 15 Viktor Hartmann paintings which inspired Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. The project opened Miami’s New World Center, a Frank Gehry designed, state-of-the-art concert hall.
